It's quite funny how overwhelmed with information we have to deal with each day, and it can be extremely difficult to get our ideas and actions into movement if we are not able to pin down a solution to work on, test and implement (and repeat if it works!).
There are simply, too many ways on the internet to driving traffic, earning money, dealing with people that we constantly keep looking for ways and means to discover the next big thing. In doing so, we forget the plans we laid down yesterday and last week, plans we have written down could have worked if we spent a little bit more time on doing them.
Today it's become too easy to be distracted by the internet, friends on your instant messengers as well as your own bad habits. Is it possible to focus on the next 7 days, on 7 things which you must implement (test and repeat) to improve your goal? Let's test... ;)

Yesterday we have finished 2 language packs of ambatch.com including simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese. Based on these 2 languages, we will put more effort on the China, Hong Kong and Taiwan market. Since more than 50 millions people can access internet in these places, it is a very good potential to increase the popularity of ambatch.com in Asia.
Next step? I think we should see the result of beta 2.0 and then adjust the path. It is too early to make conclusion.
However, Japanese is the next language pack of ambatch.com. We are still working on it. Let's see the result! |

I've finished my Japan Adsense & SEO Seminar today. It was a funny experience, and it was my 1st time to speak more than 2 hours (it should be 2.5 hour) for my presentation :-)
In my presentation, I focused the traffic generation strategy and conversion optimization skill for the Japanese market, which the English style cannot be applied to Japan. It's a fact.
During the presentation, I also showed my latest community project in front of them. I shared the basic philosophy and traffic generation model. I hope they will have a new approach towards their publishing business.
I'm not a good speaker. I mean, if you are a seminar organizer, I suggest you not to ask me to speak in your seminar. I am not a salesperson. I cannot help you to generate a lot of sales from the backend product. For this seminar, I didn't bring anything and just prepare a long speech to present there (with a lot of strategies).
Maybe you've realized, I don't want to sell 'info product or software'. The last one in 2006 should be "Backlink Video", which is targeted for SEO beignners (around 5% of my list). I know it will not (and should not) be a hot product because most people are only looking for the sure-fire tools and so-called secrets.
I am not sure whether I will offer any software or so-called secrets report in 2006/7. However I am quite sure I have no mood to do it.
Right now, I focus on my publishing project. You may realize I have changed the main page of ambatch.com to another style.....
Yes it is what I want to do. Sometimes I am quite childish and just want to prove I can do something in this way. Like the traffic volume....I can skyrocket it any time and anywhere.
I want to separate myself to the so-called internet marketing experts. They can sell very well but most of them (not all, only few of them I really respect coz they provide the real and solid portfolio) they cannot do very well in what they are saying. So they are "sales" expert rather than the "expertise in that topic" they are going to sell you. It is the fact.
Right now I prefer to focus on my publishing business alone. It is funny and suit my style. |

My team and I are doing several tests for the community project. We are sorry the speed of this site becomes slow due to huge traffic volume. My programmers are re-working on the MySql and adding additional servers to support the project.
In the meantime, I hope our friends of the forum will not promote this project right now. Coz our side is doing intensive testing and gathering data for in-depth market research. Please understand.
At this moment, we are focusing on the Asian market and following our marketing plan to generate traffic. That's why you cannot find any hints about our project in any site like imnewswatch.com. Since we don't want anyone to promote it right now. It is not a good timing.
You may feel strange why the site traffic is so good without serious promotion in English market.
It should be what a so-called expert (Kelvin, me) can do out of the "product box". I think you want to see what a so-called expert can do in the live experiment. Now you can see it at ambatch.com. If you need to know what it takes to be viral (no i don't mean sick), there are a few core elements everytime you wish to do everytime you need to spread the word about yourself, product or service. Viral marketing is also known nowadays as "Buzz marketing" and people usually has a lot of misconceptions about how to approach this method.
Buzz can be more powerful than any SEO expert, adwords optimization as well any form of paid promotions. Some of the core elements include:

Exceptional
Controversial
Remember that the web is made up of mostly (and luckily for most of us) human visitors... In the quest for such traffic, you must cater your content creatively to entertain your visitors. My car was still fine after the accident. However, the other car was 10% damaged. It was my fault that I still drove when I was very tired.

In this week, I find the total number of pages with the keyword "ambatchdotcom seocontest" keeps to change. Sometimes the number is as high as 780K, however today I see it is 720K.
I think Google has deleted some websites or webpages this week. Not sure whether Google team has taken a look to the top websites in this event. However, it is a good indication that Google agrees with the SEO strategies used by the top position players of this contest.

Many people ask me where I will host the community project?
The answer is here - ambatch.com.
The new ambatch.com will be an international community site. "International" means it supports multi-linguals.
So how many languages does it support?
Adsense supports 18 languages. This means we will support all. However, for the 1st version we only use English as primary languages. Then we will have simplified Chinese (big market), traditional Chinese (for Taiwan & Hong Kong, but Adsense for content does not support it right now) and Japanese. Then we will move to European languages including Spanish, French and German. I hope we can make them go live within 2 months. For Asian languages, it will be done within September.
Finally, ambatch.com will be similar to blogger.com. For example, your browser supports Japanese and set it as 1st language, then ambatch.com will show the japanese on the site.
What's the advantage of making the site to multilingual?

If you check the keyword "ambatchdotcom seocontest" in Google, you can see there is an Adwords ad of Google Code Jam 2006.
Definitely, Google is sending an invitation to all the players of World SEO Championship to join this event. This means, Google classifies our contest players as the top experts in the world.
As an organizer, I am very happy to have so many good players in the game, and they also contribute a lot of useful tips and contents in the Publisher Forum. I am also proud of Google keeps tracking the progress of our event, and sends the Code Jam invitation in this special way (Adwords).

Yahoo's update to their SiteExplorer has given us a new interface with lots of helpful new features scattered throughout. Looks like feed submission has taken a very real uptick! There's plenty of Q&A on the "Help" page at http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearch/siteexplorer/index.html
The idea of an authenticated dialog with site owners does sound a lot like the Google Sitemaps Program -- now renamed as Google Webmaster Tools. But I doubt this is a case of copying. In my opinion SiteExplorer was already better webmaster information than anything Google offered to the public -- and you don't just roll out something like this in a couple days. |

There are around 14 to 15 days left for the 1st phrase of our community project. To test our ideas, we need experienced and supportive forum members to do us a favor.
As our beta testers, you will not only contribute to improve the beta version of the system, but also enjoy the benefits that may change your life............hey..what is it?
We are not going to use the general internet marketing or traffic generation strategies for our project. Indeed, for the 1st phrase of this project, we will use local marketing method instead of language oriented strategy.

No, im not going to sell you any insurance today, and i'm certain at least 80% of the readers on this blog is going "arghh..." but on the web, insurance simply means your backup.
If you have a website that's running without a proper backup system or plan, you might as well be sitting in a race car without a seatbelt and driving in your birthday suit. I (not ambatch.dom) just lost 6 domains and websites recently due to a server crash. Surprisingly both our primary as well as backup hard-disks died at the same time (same batch of hardware)...and all 6 high traffic domains disappeared off the face of the planet...Taking away all our business as well as profits.
Sounds bad right? Well, the chances of that happening (both primary and backup failing) is never very high, but it did happen to me. However... i did have a remote backup which was working very quietly in the background and even though the last backup was 2 months ago, it was better than any insurance i have bought in the real world. :)
So...regardless of the publishing business or community, sales etc. you're planning to build today or have in place already. Ensure that you have a good system backup plan. If you leave everything up to your web host to decide how your data is saved, it's like asking the race driver to drive carefully. In this world of online profits, make sure you have your own back covered at all costs.
1. If you don't know how your site is backed up, you're lucky, because you must do it now. (Google "website backup")
2. Invest in remote backups, they can save your entire business if your entire data center goes down (for a million and one reasons). (Google - remote backup)
3. Ensure you have a system in place to automate the process (or you may go crazy doing it manually).
4. Practise and document on how to restore data (even if you have not had a server crash). So you won't panic when the time something like that happens.
Don't just rely on your webhost, that's putting all your eggs in one basket. And...don't let crashes get to you :) |

We see lot of people jump to the publishing business in 2006. Build website, SEO (no matter black or white), Adsense, YPN..........
I have a question to myself. Is it the only way to do business? Is it the only model to make money from Adsense?
If you are familarized with "human behaviour", the existing publishing model is not friendly. It is not talking about technical or theortical issues.
Now we should have a new approach towards this business. OR we can try to make it unlike business, or make it like a game and fit normal human behaviour on the internet.
I bet you don't understand what I am talking about :-)

The best publishing model has been already with you but you haven't realized yet.

1. The keyword "ambatchdotcom seocontest" is like a non-competitive or immature market. A lot of profit potential is there.
2. Apply basic SEO strategy to make your site rank higher, so generate good traffic to your site.
3. Repeat Step 1 (to find immature market) and Step 2 again and again. A real publishing empire is in your hand now. |

| We remove robot text from our server |
|
Yesterday I removed the robot.txt from the server and allow the Google spider to crawl this forum. I found that the spiders do not follow the robot.txt very well.... :( Age_magician reminded me this action might induce spamming activity in this forum. I understand. So my team will pay 101% attention to remove any spammy post. Since everyone can build backlink from this forum, so all guys/gals can get advantages by posting message here. Hey! No Spamming! :D
